The day before our 9 year anniversary, I had no idea on what to get my husband. I knew he would be happy with anything and I also knew neither of us wanted to spend a whole lot of money right now. To top it off he ended up with the flu and felt awful the night before :/
I kept trying to brainstorm "free" ways we could celebrate and I finally decided on setting up a projector in the backyard and watching our wedding video. After ALL these years I don't think we've ever watched it together and I may have watched it once or twice in the 9 years. This idea slowly escalated as more ideas came to mind. Long story short, I set up a movie night with letters, gifts, keepsakes, and photos we've kept over the years for one another. I made us dinner, I had some drink labels at home so whipped those up onto some bottles and called it a day! I even snagged the wedding date cake idea and just used it as an anniversary cake haha
It was by far the most peaceful and sentimental anniversary we've had to date. Even my husband made the comment that this was the best one yet <3
*He was also a champ for taking a few cute photos with me in my wedding veil!
